This week’s scripture from Romans 14 speaks to us: “We do not live to ourselves, and we do not die to ourselves.  If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord; so then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.”

Please pray for all on our prayer lists, including those recently added:

  • Jacob Sniff, grandson of Lola & Gerry Sniff.  Jacob is having neurosurgery at Vanderbilt on Thursday, September 10.
  • The Tolley Family
  • Victims of recent violence, disasters and storms.

This week on our Parish Family Prayer Cycle we are praying for:

  • Rocky & Mary Beth Hudson and Family
  • Paul Johnson
  • Stuart, Elizabeth & James Paul Johnson

We continue to pray for all who recently died and those who mourn their loss, including:

  • Victims of recent violence, disasters and storms

Collegedale Parks & Recreation will host a special community remembrance program on Friday, September 11, 2026, commemorating the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.  The program, titled “We Remember 25 Years of Honor, Courage & Unity,” will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. inside Founders Hall at The Commons, located at 4750 Swinyar Drive in Collegedale. The community is invited to join together to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, honor the courage and sacrifice of first responders and military members, and reflect on the strength and unity that emerged in the aftermath of the tragedy.  Lou has been invited to give the Invocation at this event.
