Keeping a Holy Lent Resources for 2026

1.  Forward Day by Day: books are in the Narthex which contain a single page meditation with a prayer and a scripture verse for each day.  The daily reflection may also be accessed at: https://prayer.forwardmovement.org/fdd

2.  Episcopal Relief & Development provides daily meditations delivered to your email account. Please go to https://www.episcopalrelief.org/church-in-action/lent/ to sign up. As this International Aid Agency of The Episcopal Church continues to respond to disasters such as the various storms and wildfires of the past months, they are also helping communities around the world develop clean water, local food sources, and provide important health care for young children.  If you choose to set aside money for this agency, we will collect those monies during Easter and share them with this agency that works around the globe to help “heal a hurting world."

3.  The Society of St. John the Evangelist has “Brother, Give Us a Word”. Lent is a great time to embrace this regular offering in which you will receive a daily Word and reflection.  Sign up for this daily offering of reflection and prayer at: https://www.ssje.org/word/. In addition to the daily Word, SSJE offers daily live-streamed worship, except for Mondays.  For their schedule and links to worship, please go to: https://www.ssje.org/chapel/#livestream

4.  Mission St. Clare offers the Daily Offices of Morning Prayer, Noon Day Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Compline complete with the assigned readings for the day.  They provide music options if one would like to sing a hymn or canticle as they pray.  Go to: http://www.missionstclare.com/english/.  They do have an App for smart phones and tablets.

5.  Looking for a simple one-sheet prayer source for each day in Lent? United Thank Offering has created just such a calendar, which we have made copies of and placed in the Narthex. Check out: https://unitedthankoffering.com/lent/ for the various resources including a book study they are offering on Lent.

6.  Finally, for those who enjoy lively competition while learning more about people who have influenced Christianity enough to be specifically remembered by the Church, Forward Day by Day once again invites us to Lent Madness.  This link allows us to learn more and have fun in community: http://www.lentmadness.org/.
